BetPawa Uganda Sports Betting, Aviator and Casino
Updated October 2026. Players must be 25 or older. Betting can be addictive and psychologically harmful.
betPawa has taken bets in Uganda since 2014, and its tagline, “Bet Small, Win BIG”, describes the pitch accurately: stakes start at UGX 1. The Ugandan site, betpawa.ug, covers football, basketball, eFootball and tennis, runs a casino lobby of roughly 2,974 games and promotes Aviator as its flagship crash game. This page sets out the main facts about betPawa in Uganda. Offers and limits change, so check the current terms on betpawa.ug before you register or deposit.
The facts below come from betPawa’s own site, its Terms and Help Center, the 2024 register of the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) and press coverage. We are an independent review site, not betPawa.
What Is betPawa Uganda
betPawa is a sportsbook and online casino owned by Mchezo Limited of Kigali, Rwanda. The technology platform, PawaTech, sits in the same group, and the business grew out of a seed fund from 88mph under Group CEO Kresten Buch. The brand operates in 11 countries: Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, DRC, Zambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and Benin. On its home page it calls itself “Africa’s Betting Giant”. In Uganda it settles everything in Ugandan shillings (UGX) and keeps an office in Kampala at K&K Chambers, Plot 5A2 Acacia Avenue, Kololo.

Licence and Who Runs betPawa in Uganda
The betPawa.ug footer shows two licence numbers: NLGRB-BM-26-0181 for betting and NLGRB-CS-26-0182 for casino. The “26” in both points to 2026 licences. In the NLGRB register for 2024 the same business appears under a General Betting Operating Licence and a Casino Operating Licence, listed as Chop Gaming Limited with the address http://www.betpawa.ug.
The Terms and Conditions name the contracting company as Choplife Gaming Limited (registration no. 128803, Windsor Crescent, Kololo III, Central Division, Kampala), while the footer and Help Center say bets and payouts are processed by Chop Gaming Limited, the name used in the register. Read the Terms on the site if the exact legal entity matters to you.
Licences in Uganda run to 31 December each year, so the list needs a fresh check every January. The legal frame is the Lotteries and Gaming Act 2016 (amended 2018); advertising is supervised by the Uganda Communications Commission, and the Responsible Gaming Directives 2025 cover self-exclusion and deposit or time limits.
Sports, Virtuals and Casino at a Glance
The betPawa home page splits into four main areas. The table shows what is inside each one.
| Section | What is inside | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sports | Football, basketball, eFootball, tennis; live betting; outrights | Singles and multibets up to 60 selections |
| Aviator | Spribe crash game, promoted as “Biggest Aviator Max Win” | Provider confirmed: Spribe |
| Casino | Slots, live casino, crash games; about 2,974 games | Check the lobby for game providers |
| Virtuals | Separate virtual-sports lobby | Check the lobby for current games |
Sports Betting
Football leads the menu, followed by basketball, eFootball and tennis. A multibet can hold up to 60 events. Matches are settled on the official result and the rules of each market; for 1X2 that means the main (90-minute) time. Total winnings are capped at UGX 800,000,000 per user over a rolling three days (Terms, clause 11), which is far above what most players will ever reach.
Aviator
Aviator comes from Spribe, and betPawa pushes it harder than any other game. In July 2025 a single Aviator round on betPawa produced more than USD 1.1 million in combined winnings, which Spribe described as the largest group win in a single round in Africa; Ugandan players were among the winners (Sigma). betPawa states a maximum win of USD 250,000 per round. Treat records as headlines, not expectations: a crash game ends the round when the multiplier “crashes”, and many rounds end early.
Casino
The casino lobby lists about 2,974 games across slots, live casino and crash titles. betPawa advertises a 15% casino cashback on its home page. Check the lobby for the full list of game providers before you play.
Virtuals
Virtual sports have their own lobby on the home page. They run on random-number results rather than real matches, so there is nothing to study in form or team news.
The betPawa Win Bonus and Casino Cashback
The headline offer is the Win Bonus on multibets, advertised as “up to 1250%”. That figure is a ceiling: the percentage you get depends on your selections, and the slip shows the bonus for your exact selections before you confirm. Check it there before you register or deposit. If a match on your slip is cancelled and not replayed within 24 hours, the bonus is recalculated on the remaining selections (Rules).
The 15% casino cashback is shown as a banner on the home page. Read its conditions (period, minimum loss and eligible games) in your account before you register or deposit, and check the promotions page for any welcome offer or promo code that is live today. No bonus makes a bet safe; a bonus only changes the payout if you win.
Deposits and Withdrawals with MTN and Airtel
betPawa Uganda takes deposits through MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money, and pays winnings out to the wallet linked to the account. Check the current minimum and maximum amounts for deposits and withdrawals in the cashier before you deposit. Payment providers can charge their own fees (Terms, clause 8.3), and an account that stays inactive for 12 months can attract a monthly fee (clause 7.12); check the Terms for the amount.
Payments must come from a wallet in your own name. Credit-card and business accounts are not accepted, and payouts go only to the account holder. Withdrawals can be held until verification is complete; betPawa may ask for ID such as a passport, proof of address, a utility bill and financial details (Terms, clauses 8.7 and 19).
Taxes on Winnings
Winnings are paid after taxes are deducted (Terms, clause 16). Uganda’s market rate is a 15% withholding tax on betting winnings, collected before the money reaches you, so the net amount you receive is lower than the gross win on your slip. Check the Terms for the current rate before you deposit.
betPawa on Mobile: App, iOS and PWA
betPawa lists three ways to use the site on a phone: an iOS app in the App Store, an Android app, and a PWA you add to your home screen from the browser. All three reach the same account.
- Enter your phone number on betpawa.ug or in the app.
- Set a 4-digit password.
- Add your personal details and accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Deposit with MTN or Airtel Mobile Money and place a first bet.
Is betPawa Safe for Ugandan Players
The basics are in place. betPawa holds NLGRB licences, sets the minimum age at 25 and asks for identity documents before a withdrawal. It offers 24/7 support through Facebook Messenger (m.me/betPawauganda), Telegram (t.me/betpawa_uganda), X (@betPawaUG), Instagram and Facebook, plus a callback request that is normally answered in 0–5 minutes. Complaints go to the company first and then to the regulator or the Ugandan courts (Terms, clause 9.4).
Responsible-gambling tools are available: you can self-exclude, and the exclusion lifts automatically when the period ends; it cannot be cancelled early. You can also ask support to close the account. The footer warns that betting can be addictive and psychologically harmful. Set a budget before you play and keep to it.
